Pickled Herring Salad
If you think eating herring from the tail is a bit to adventurous, than the herring salad is a very nice alternative for eating herring or substitute smoked trout for herring
Ingredients:
1 c Marinated herring
1 red onion,
1 smalBeet root
few pickles
1 pack salad melange
2 tbsp olive oil extra virgine
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
A pinch Salt and Pepper
The Dutch love herring. You can add or delete ingredients freely in this salad. In a large bowl, combine the marinate herring (buy it on the fish market or find them in the supermarket in a jar), red union, beets, apples and pickles. Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper, sugar. Toss lightly with dressing. Enjoy!
